The International Day of Yoga is marked annually on June 21.
An invaluable gift of ancient Indian tradition Yoga has
emerged as one of the most trusted means to boost physical
and mental well-being. This year, the theme for International
Yoga Day is “ Yoga for Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam ”,which
beautifully encapsulates our collective aspiration for “ One
Earth, One family, One future”.
Our school strongly believes in the practice of Yoga and to
inculcate awareness among students a yoga session was
organized for the Grade VII, under the guidance of Mrs.
Shubhangi Salgaokar from Ghantali Mitra Mandal who is
practicing yoga for past 17 years and has a Master’s degree in
Yoga shastra and Pranic Healer and was assisted by
Miss Sneha Patil.
The session began with the chanting of “Aum” and neck
rotation. The session progressed further with yoga asanas
like Tadasan, Vrukshasan, Hastapadasan, chakras an etc.
which were demonstrated by Miss Sneha to the students.
Every benefit of these asanas was told to the students and
the students followed the instructions given by
Mrs. Salgaonkar to practice the asana. The students were
delighted to learn new forms of yoga asana and the session
concled with Bhramari pranayama and shanti path
